Hey everyone!

Happy Sunday night and welcome to my little digital corner. With this being an introduction, I’ll be sure to keep this blog post short and sweet for you all. I invite you to take a gander around the site and give “The Hunt,” “Cinders of the Past,” and “Exile Son” a read. You can find those by scrolling to the bottom of the home page or going to the blog or work page. I will be expanding these stories into their own individual series. My aim is to release a short story a week every Friday. I will keep a rotation starting with “The Hunt,” then “Exile Son” and then “Cinders.”

I’ve found that when I write a short story, my mind can’t help but toy with the world that it is set in. A string of questions always comes up: “What’s the rest of the world like; What other events are unfolding; Who’s doing what and why?” And those questions won’t stop hounding me until I’ve answered them. Not that I mind, of course. If I see that there’s more to write and explore, then I’ll gladly do it. Alongside short stories, you can also read a little about my novel in the works which I hope to share with the world soon.

I’m sure that you can tell just by taking a quick glance at the site that I’m a fantasy nerd. Truth is I’ve always been a sucker for anything that involves fantasy, and if it’s great fantasy? Good luck trying to get me to stop talking about it! Currently, when it comes to books, I’m hung up on the Malazan Book of the Fallen series by Steven Erikson. I’m also itching to get back to The Black Company series by Glen Cook. Outside of literature I’ve been a fan of Critical Role for a while now and even though I prefer Pathfinder over Dungeons and Dragons I’ve learned a lot of great tips and tricks from watching Matt Mercer when it comes to being a game master for my tabletop group.

Before I wrap this post up, I want to invite you, dear readers, to join me on this journey I’ve decided to embark on. The next big goal that I have set for myself is to get my novel Blood, Faith, and Magic published. As I work towards my goal, and long after I achieve it, I’ll have plenty more short stories to share with you. So, let’s have some fun. Until next time!

Best,

Aaron Kirby
